Confirmation

“Like Baptism which it completes, Confirmation is given only once, for it too imprints on the soul an indelible spiritual mark, the “character,” which is the sign that Jesus Christ has marked a Christian with the seal of his Spirit by clothing him with power from on high so that he may be his witness.” Catechism of the Catholic Church 121

The Sacrament of Confirmation strengthens us in our mission as we spread the Good News of salvation in the name of the Lord.  It clothes us in the “armor of God” (St. Paul referred to in his letter to the Ephesians). Through this sacrament, we become adults in the Catholic Church and also receive the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit: wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord (wonder).

At Saint Patrick Church, P.R.E.P. students receive the Sacrament of Confirmation is the 6thgrade. Those becoming Catholics through the R.C.I.A. program also receive Confirmation and can learn more here.
